Random Happenings

And this weekend we enjoyed conference with some of our kids & Grandma of course. We also went kayaking in the river and I thought we were going to freeze to death but it was really pretty good and we got some awesome pictures but I guess I am not as good as I thought Shane sent them to me in my email but I can't figure out how to get them. But thanks you guys for the great weekend it was great having you home. Stephen & Kami, & Nathan and Kelsey we missed you.

We celebrated Karli's 16th birthday. It is so weird that my baby is 16. She is so much fun having around. She even likes being with her mom and dad. Happy 16 Karli we sure do love you.

We celebrated my birthday at Kory & Charisse's house thank you so much for the great day I had a blast. Do you see the crown I am wearing? I was queen for a day and nobody could be mean to me it was great. We also went to the temple with my niece and nephew they adopted two children and were able to seal them to there family. It was great to be with some of the Williams family. Nathan and Kelsey we missed you.
So I found pictures on my camera from our trip to Hawaii so I guess you get a lot more too. Stephen and Kami, & Kory and Charisse wanted to do something fun when Stephen and Kory graduated so they decided to go to Hawaii and they asked us if we wanted to go with them. It was a great vacation and still cannot believe that we went. We loved playing in the water and just being together. The temple was amazing and am very glad we went.

So i really don't know about this blogging thing because first I am a terrible computer person (one who hates computers) and two I just want them to work and do what I want them to do. So then your kids tell you, you have to have a blog and then when you don't do anything on the blog you get yelled at too. Man this is a much to complicated world that we live in and if my kids would just have stayed living in my house we wouldn't have to be dealing with any of this. But just for the record I love all of the husbands and wife that they married.

Kami told me I need to use this as a journal and she wants something every week HA HA HA!!! Yes I thought that was funny too but we are going to try.

Sorry like I said this is going to be weird but I figured out how to get my pictures off of my camera.

Okay I haven't done this for a very long time but Krystal told me I had to tell this story so here you go. I take my mother-in-law to town with me sometimes to do grocery shopping. She just loves to go to town and get out of the house. But before I tell you what happened you have to realize the relationship between me and my mother-in-law. We both give each other a bad time. I tell her things that I know are going to make her mad and she does the same to me. I am really afraid of seeing my father-in-law (he passed away 16 years ago) again because I have turned my mother-in-law into a jokester. But I really love them both.

Anyway we were driving around Pocatello and I saw this car I have just really fallen in love with and it was green (my whole house is green but my favorite color is red and my mother-in-law hates green and tells me all the time) So I showed my mother-in-law and I thought she was going to come unglued. She told me how ugly that car was and that she would never ride in that car. I got on the phone right away and called Richard and asked him if I could buy this car, he told me I couldn't. Well I tried. Love you mom.

Well I finally accomplished it. Kami had a home decorator come to there enrichment and was telling me all about it. She was telling them how to decorate there book shelves and Kami got really excited and called me and was telling me all the stuff that she suggested. Kami said Mom that would be so cool to do that to your book shelves. So she proceeded to help me. I would call her from the stores, take pictures on my phone and send her, and was trying really hard to do this on my own. Well after days and days and days of stuff laying all over my floors, and a lot of questions being asked on how to do this or that here is the final end results. After I took this pictures I was really kicking myself that I didn't take a before and after shot. But take my word for it, it was really bad. There was just JUNK piled all over the shelves. It was really bad. But I hope that this passes the test Kami. It makes me feel a whole lot better. When I pass the shelves I just have to stop and look I am so excited. Thank Kami

The Call Family Vacation 2009

We had our annual family vacation and Richard has been dying to take us to the hidden lakes up to Palisades, so he saw an opportunity and took it. I don't really think that everyone was so excited about it but they all agreed. But a week before we left Stephen and Kami had something come up with his family so they couldn't go with us the whole time but they did go most of the way with us and then turned around and went back home. The first night we camped at the base of the trail, and then headed up early the next morning after a bowl of delicious cold cereal.

Here is everyone getting there backpacks on for the hike.

We came to a bridge and the water was beautiful everyone decided to take a break

This is the lake that we finally made it too. The next day Kory decided that he wanted to get to the little island out there and the water was kind of cold so he decided to gather logs and everyone thought that was a great idea so they all started collecting logs. It turned out great and they had fun.

Shane and Krystal did some awesome fishing for us. The fish was great eating.

All morning on Saturday mom was yelling at everyone to stay away from her pot because she was cooking her muffin/pancake and she didn't want anybody to knock it over so after it was all done mom was taking it out of the pan....she drops it and I don't think the 10 second rule applies in the mountains but mother was hungary and she WANTED that muffin/pancake so they salvaged all they could.

Krystal is our popcorn fanatic. She eats it as much as she can so she packed up a jiffy popcorn thing on her pack just so she could have some on the trail. Kory had to get in on the fun too.

We sat around the campfire a lot waiting for our meals to cook. But it wasn't the meals that we were use to when we would go camping. Richard would always do his dutch oven cooking and for some reason he would not take up his dutch ovens. But we ate pretty well for packing all of our food up there.

Well we finally made it to the bottom. I even had Richard pack my rock for just a little while. I have to have a rock from our vacations. But I think we were all very tired. We stopped at the square ice cream place and didn't really care what we looked like we just wanted ice cream. Would just like to tell all of our kids thank you very much it was great being together.

We also dewormed the pigs. And we had to take pictures, that was the best part.

Dad had told everyone the night before that we needed to haul straw into the pivot tracks, everyone was so excited. We were very lucky though it was cool and overcast. So thought you would enjoy some pictures.
